What is a Savannah cat ?

History in the making

The Serval cat is the foundation for the Savannah cat. There have been documented, and more than likely undocumented breedings between the African serval and domestic cats for many years. It has only been in the past decade that I have produced a consistent Savannah/serval hybrid.

The African serval is a very mild mannered feline  making the offspring of this hybrid cross very reliably tempered . The  serval has been kept as a pet here and abroad for decades and has also been kept as a pet by tribes in Africa .This I was not sure of so did my own research and yes they are still kept as a domestic pet.

The process of producing Savannahs is no easy task. There are many variables to consider with hybrid crosses and should not be undertaken by the inexperienced individual.
